Study on the Influence of Phase Noise on Communication System

Abstract— The phase noise plays an important role in the communication system. It is the normalized frequency offset caused by the local oscillator. It not only reduces the signal to noise ratio at the transmitter but also seriously deteriorates the capacity of demodulation at the receiver. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between phase noise and EVM (Error Vector Magnitude), BER (Bit Error Rate), it can provide a theoretical basis for millimeter wave communication system designing.
